The Space Between

The Space Between (The Book of Phoenix, #1)
 3 of 5 stars false
When Life Falls to Pieces, Answers Lie in the Space Between
After a month-long dance tour through Italy, 20-year-old Leni Drago returns to Georgia to care for her great-uncle, only to find him gone, the home they shared empty and any evidence he ever existed wiped out. All that’s left is a journal she can’t open.
Jeric Winters has been searching for a piece of his past for over a year, only to reach a dead-end in Georgia. When an urgent and magnetic pull draws him out of his hotel room, he comes face-to-face with the beautiful dancer who’s been haunting his dreams day and night.
Jeric’s one to stay away from—a bad-boy, hit-it-and-quit-it type—but Leni can’t escape the fervent feelings between them. As their own existences begin to crumble around them and shadowy forms that are more monsters than men attack, they realize there’s more to the connection between them than physical fascination.
To solve the riddle their lives have become, they must embark on a journey that requires them to face their pasts and release their true souls. And they must do it fast—dark ones from another world are closing in, intent on killing them. Permanently.

****This book was part of a blog tour I received a copy for my honest review****
Leni and Jeric met in Italy and had an instant connection, the two of them have to go their separate ways. They end up finding each other again in Georgia, they have these weird clues that they have to figure out. This was one of those books that's well written, has a good plot line and great characters but I just could not get into it. The plot line was interesting, the idea of reincarnation and soul mates was great. The characters were well developed, I liked Leni and her quite determination. Jeric was the bad boy player who needed a good woman. The glimpses into the past we got added a new dimension to the story and had me respecting the author even more. This book had everything going for it, I just couldn't get into it, I don't know why. Maybe it was just the mood I was in when I read it or something, but I felt like it dragged on for so long and I ended up getting bored.

Finding Jordie 18+

The following review is for 18+ readers.

  Finding Jordie
5 of 5 stars false
Jordie is a survivor, tough, and independent. She’s had to be, since her husband was killed in Iraq. For the last eight years, raising her daughter and owning a popular New York City bar has kept Jordie plenty busy, leaving her no time for much of anything else. Aside from her sassy yet squirrely best friend Rachel, Jordie’s social life is bare bones and her love life nonexistent. Truth be told she wouldn’t change a thing; she’s never been happier.
Then she meets Nathan, and he changes everything with one crooked smile, triggering a chain of life altering events for the two of them, filled with romance, chaos and deadly peril. Neither of them could ever imagine their relationship would resurrect an unknown darkness from Jordie’s past, lurking in the shadows, just waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Jordie has never needed to be stronger for all of them to make it out alive.

****This book was part of a blog tour I received a copy for my honest review****
Jordie has spent the last eight years raising her daughter and running  her bar in New York, she doesn't have time for a guy and isn't looking for a relationship. Nathan is a great guy with secrets of his own, the two of them start hitting the sheets and a stalker comes out of the woodwork. I loved this book, the heroine sounds like somebody I would be friends with, she is tough, bold and has a great sense of humor. The hero Nathan is hot, caring and a really great guy. The two of them have a scorching hot romance going on that is disturbed by someone who is stalking Jordie. I loved how the author was able to sprinkle in little bits here and there that added surprises to the story. This was a fast paced read that has you glued to your kindle from the first page to the last. Finding Jordie is a great debut novel for this author and if this is the kind of work we can come to expect from her, then I am a fan of hers for life.
